FILL
A WISH RECIPIENTS
Romeo Meets Juliet
Ladies Auxiliary filled a wish May 24 for 9 year old Romeo Gaona who has difficulty speaking clearly.
His speech therapist contacted us with the request for a small portable devise that could allow him
to communicate. When the news media heard that this device was too be presented to Romeo, they
arrived with cameras rolling and started interviewing everyone connected with the donation.
The story aired on channel 7 and appeared in the Roanoke Times. As exciting as it was to receive
all the publicity, it was more rewarding to know that the VIADA through its Ladies Auxiliary has
helped to prepare Romeo Gaona to talk to Juliet one day when he meets her.
The Ladies Auxiliary also presented another such device to 14 year old Roy Spencer.
Both families were very grateful for the devices. They are looking forward to much improvement
in the ability of their boys to communicate.
THE
VIADA Ladies Auxiliary has set up a fund to grant that special
"wish" to a severely handicapped or terminally ill child under
the age of 18. If you have a family member or know anyone in
your area that would qualify for this benefit, please
download this
grant application and save it to your computer as
a Word document. The document contains all instructions from
there. Thank you.
