President Bobby Steele introduced Kimberly Maddox,
coordinator of Safe Kids, who gave a demonstration of how children’s car seats
are to be properly installed and where to find the expiration dates on car
seats. Dealers can work with law
enforcement agents to have demonstrations at their lots or customers can be
sent to them to have their car seats checked.
It was enlightening to realize the danger many children are subjected to
only because the driver is not aware.
The group met for a breakfast meeting for the first time.
Information was reviewed on dealer recertification, cashier
check scams, district court rulings concerning “as is” sales, Red Flag
checklist, temporary Permission to Drive that has no insurance verification,
and much more.
